Job Title: Health & Safety Manager

Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire

Salary: £55,000

A market-leading, multi-disciplined construction business offering services across divisions such as Construction, M&E Building Services, Commercial Interiors, CAT A & CAT B Fit-Out, Small Works, and Facilities Management is seeking a Health & Safety (HSEQ) Manager.

As the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a critical role in providing strategic guidance, development, and design of health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures, policies, and compliance measures.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Developing, implementing, and monitoring HSEQ accreditations including ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 across the company.
2. Engaging with all projects and facilities management sites to implement health and safety policies and ensure legal compliance.
3. Providing support to project teams on all HS&E issues.
4. Updating and reviewing policies, procedures, site documentation, risk assessments, and method statements.
5. Conducting workplace audits and site inspections to monitor policy effectiveness and identify improvements.
6. Conducting training sessions, toolbox talks, inductions, and investigating incidents and accidents.
7. Assessing new processes and practices.
8. Liaising with external bodies on health, safety, and environmental issues.
9. Developing communication strategies to ensure understanding and adherence to the Health and Safety plan by all employees and subcontractors.

Successful applicants will have:

1. NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
2. Auditing qualification.
3. Environmental management qualification.
4. Strong communication and presentation skills to engage with knowledgeable professionals.
5. Broad knowledge of risk assessment practices.
6. Excellent influencing, persuading, and coaching skills to build professional relationships.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Computer-Based Training Programs.
