About Griggs

Griggs is a premier construction company based in Hertfordshire, specialising in luxury residential projects. Known for our unwavering commitment to quality, we craft bespoke homes with meticulous attention to detail. Our collaborative and supportive culture ensures each team member has the resources needed to thrive and succeed.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced SHEQ Manager (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) to lead our Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality agenda across multiple high-end residential sites across London and the home counties. Working closely with our Site Managers, you will play a critical role in championing best practice, maintaining compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

This is a strategic, hands-on role with a split between site visits and office-based reporting and planning. You’ll have the autonomy to shape how SHEQ is delivered across the business and will be pivotal in driving behavioural safety and regulatory excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety Leadership: Own and evolve our SHEQ policies and ensure adherence across all sites. Carry out site inspections and audits regularly.
  • Environmental & Sustainability Oversight: Promote sustainable practices and ensure our projects comply with environmental legislation and company objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and monitor robust quality systems to maintain the high standards we’re known for. Manage site-specific QA documentation.
  • Training & Development: Provide SHEQ training, toolbox talks, and mentoring to ensure all staff and contractors are competent and confident.
  • Incident Management: Lead on accident investigations and near-miss reporting. Implement lessons learned and drive preventative strategies.
  • Digital Documentation & Reporting: Use Procore and other tools to maintain accurate records and share actionable insights across the business.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a SHEQ role within the construction sector, ideally luxury residential.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent (essential).
  • Experience conducting site audits, risk assessments, and developing SHEQ strategies.
  • Comfortable using digital tools like Procore, Field View, or similar.
  • A proactive and people-focused approach with strong communication skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.

Perks and Benefits

  • Competitive salary, benchmarked against the market.
  • 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, and an extra day off for your birthday.
  • Access to a Virtual GP service, healthcare cash plan, and mental health support.
  • Employee discount programme and referral bonus scheme.
  • Fun team-building events and memorable Christmas parties.
  • Learning and Development: As a CITB levy-paying employer, we invest in our team by offering comprehensive training to all new starters during their initial period with us.

How to Apply

Ready to make a real impact in a business that values quality, care, and its people? Apply now to join Griggs and help shape the future of safety and excellence in luxury construction. We look forward to hearing from you.
