Job summary

Culina Group is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to join the Oldham site on a full-time permanent basis. You will work with the Health & Safety, Quality and compliance teams to ensure certification standards (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001) and legal compliance.

Key duties include implementing MAH actions, risk assessments, contractor records, waste management, maintaining the Health & Safety Management System, and providing guidance on statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
• Experience with risk assessments and COSHH.
• Proficiency with MS Office and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Implement MAH improvement actions and ensure MAH scenarios are assessed.
• Maintain records for contractors and planned site maintenance.
• Manage waste disposal and site hygiene; maintain competence management system.
• Ensure Health & Safety Management System compliance and legal standards.
• Advise on compliance with statutory requirements and company standards.
• Support risk assessments for staff and agency inductions.
• Provide health, safety and environmental training to staff.

We are currently seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to join our Health & Safety team at our Oldham site on a full time permanent basis.

Salary:£27,123per annum.

Working hours:Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

As a Health & Safety Coordinator you willwork closely with our internal Health and Safety, Quality and compliance teams to ensure the company maintains all required certifications (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001) and is legally compliant in all its health, safety and quality activities.

Key Duties of aHealth & Safety Coordinator:

• Implementing improvement actions raised in connection with MAH (Major Accident Hazard).
• Ensuring a suitable risk assessment process to establish MAH scenarios is implemented.
• Keeping control and records for appointed contractors and planned site maintenance.
• Managing waste disposal and site hygiene Ensuring that an effective competence management system is maintained.
• Understanding and maintaining all aspects of a Health and Safety Management System.
• Ensuring plant and machinery are safe to use and legally compliant.
• Provide guidance and advice to the region on compliance with all statutory requirements and company standards.
• Undertake risk assessments relating to SHEQ as required.
• To support managers in Health and Safety Risk Assessments / COSHH Assessments to ensure that legislative standards are met or exceeded.
• To participate in Health, Safety and Environmental training for established staff and provide induction training for all new entrants including agency staff.
• Understanding and advising on current H&S legislation, guidance and best practise.

• Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation, good working practices, Regulatory inspections/servicing compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 is advantageous.
• Experience applying Root Cause and Trend Analysis would be desirable.
• PC literate with a sound working knowledge of MS Office.
• Good time management skills with the ability and desire to solve problems.
• Self-motivated with a keen desire to participate as a pro-active member of the team.
• Keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to work.
• IOSH qualified would be preferable.
