Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is seeking a Warehouse Shift Manager to assist the Operations Manager with the day-to-day running of the warehouse. You will ensure Health & Safety standards, quality control and timely dispatch to meet KPIs, while leading a shift team.

The role is full-time and permanent, working 14:00-22:00, Monday to Friday, at the Rugby site. You will drive team performance, coaching staff and managing attendance and operational tasks in a busy 3PL environment.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse operational experience.
• Experience of managing, supporting and motivating a large team.
• Proven experience of all aspects of people management including probationary, attendance, performance and disciplinary matters.
• Experience of managing teams and prioritising a tight and challenging workload.
• Knowledge and experience of safe working practice inclusive of all Health and Safety elements.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
• Good IT skills, Microsoft packages and WMS.
• Previous 3PL experience is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage Goods Inwards to ensure fast receipts and stock availability.

• Conduct disciplinary / grievance interviews and investigations.
• Monitor sickness absence and conduct return-to-work interviews.
• Manage time and attendance system.
• Provide regular performance feedback.
• Workforce planning with overtime and agency staffing.
• Enforce company policies and procedures.
• Monitor training and health & safety representation on shift.
• Support management with ad-hoc duties.

Job Description

Asa Warehouse ShiftManageryou will contribute to the success of the site by supporting theOperationsManagerin the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuringall aspects of Health & Safety within the Warehouse are maintained and product is picked and dispatched to the highest standard in order to meet contractual KPI’s.

This is a full time, permanent role, working the hours of Monday - Friday,1400-2200

Key Duties of a Warehouse Shift Manager:

• Manage and motivate the shift teamin order toensure that productivity and service KPI’sare achievedor exceeded.
• Ensure the highest possible levels of health, safety and hygieneare upheldso that legislative and quality requirements can be complied with, ensuring relevant paperworkis completedand retained.
• Ensuring the highest levels of Quality and complianceare maintainedand that the site operates to the Audit standard required.
• Deliver communication briefings so that allshiftsare aware of all Company and local issues and employeesare able tooffer input / improvements and feel involved.
• Manage Goods Inwards area to ensure that receiptsare madequickly and without damaging goods so that stock is available to satisfy orders.
• Develop all team members so that their contributions to the Warehouse can be maximised and succession plan.
• Carry outdisciplinary / grievance interviews and investigations in line with Company procedure.
• Monitor and control sickness absence levels in line with Company policy andcarry outreturn to work interviews effectively and efficiently.
• Monitor and control time and attendance system.
• To offer regular feedback, formal and informal, on team and individual performance, including behavioural issues and highlightinggood performanceand areas for further development.
• Man powerplanning, by ensuring the appropriate levels of overtime and agency workers to efficiently and cost effectively run the shift.
• Enforce and adhere all Company policies and procedures.
• Monitor and control training for teams, ensuring the correct amount of health & safety representation on shift, i.e. First Aiders, Fire Marshallsetc.
• SupportManagementin any ad-hoc duties within the Warehouse function.
