Job summary

Medik8 is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to support the maintenance of our safety framework and daily compliance across operations. You will provide essential administrative and operational support to the H&S team, helping foster a proactive safety culture on site.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the role covers compliance documentation, training delivery, incident reporting, fire safety coordination, and assisting with audits to prepare for inspections.

Qualifications

• Experience in administrative or coordination role within an H&S or operational environment.
• High attention to detail with strong organisational and multi-tasking skills.
• Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing compliance documentation and centralising COSHH registers and SDS maintenance.
• Deliver safety inductions and refresher training for staff; update L&D content as required.
• Standardise weekly reporting of near misses and accidents for risk mitigation.
• Coordinate fire safety and first aid administration; maintain logbooks and equipment checks.
• Assist the Health & Safety Manager in site inspections, spot-checks and audits.

About the Role

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, this role is essential in supporting the maintenance of our safety framework and ensuring daily compliance across our operations. You will provide vital administrative and operational support to the H&S team, helping to cultivate a robust, proactive safety culture across our site.

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

Work Pattern: 5 days onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Compliance & Administration: Assist in managing critical compliance documentation, including centralising COSHH registers and maintaining accurate Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

• Training Coordination: Deliver consistent safety inductions and refresher training for new and existing staff, while updating L&D training content as required.

• Reporting & Data: Standardise the weekly reporting of near misses and accidents to provide accurate data for identifying and mitigating site risks.

• Operational Support: Coordinate fire safety and first aid administration, including maintaining logbooks and verifying regular equipment checks across the facility.

• Audit Support: Assist the Health & Safety Manager in preparing for site inspections, spot-checks, and external regulatory audits.

• Communication: Act as a helpful point of contact for employee safety queries, escalating issues appropriately when necessary.

Essential Criteria

• Demonstrable experience in an administrative or coordination role within an H&S or operational environment.

• High attention to detail with strong organisational and multi-tasking skills.

• Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage colleagues across all levels.

Desirable Criteria

• Possession of, or working towards, a NEBOSH General Certificate.

• Practical understanding of fundamental UK H&S legislation.

• Exposure to H&S management software tools.
