Job summary

Saica Pack is hiring an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to lead HSE performance at the Livingston facility. You will own the HSE strategy, drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.

Reporting to the Regional Director, you will coordinate audits, risk assessments and training programs while promoting environmental initiatives and continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate is required.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety and environmental legislation.
• Experience conducting audits, investigations and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site's HSE strategy and improvement plans.
• Drive a proactive safety culture through leadership and coaching.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Manage risk assessments, investigations and corrective actions.
• Lead internal and external audits for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Support contractor management and emergency preparedness.
• Deliver HSE training, inductions and toolbox talks.
• Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics and KPIs.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Regional Director, you'll take ownership of the site's Health, Safety and Environmental strategy, ensuring legislative compliance while fostering a positive and engaging safety culture throughout the business.

You will act as the site's HSE expert, partnering with managers and employees at all levels to drive improvements, manage risk and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• - Lead and implement the site's HSE strategy, objectives and improvement plans.
• - Drive a proactive safety culture through engagement, coaching and leadership.
• - Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
• - Manage risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions.
• - Lead internal and external audits, maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• - Support contractor management processes and emergency preparedness activities.
• - Deliver HSE training, inductions, toolbox talks and competency programmes.
• - Promote environmental initiatives focused on waste reduction, recycling and sustainability.
• - Monitor, analyse and report on HSE performance metrics and KPIs.

About You

• - 3 to 5 years' experience within a Health, Safety & Environmental management role.
• - NEBOSH General Certificate.
• - Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• - Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
• - Experience conducting audits, investigations and risk assessments.
• - Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• - Ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
• - Experience within FMCG, packaging or manufacturing environments.
• - Degree in Environmental Science, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
