Job summary

Oxford Main Contractor is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support construction projects across Oxford and surrounding areas. You will work with site teams and senior management to ensure delivery in line with procedures, legislation and best practice.

The role involves inspections, RAMS reviews, inductions, toolbox talks, accident investigations and promoting a strong safety culture on site.

Qualifications

• Previous Health & Safety experience within the construction industry.
• Experience working for a main contractor advantageous.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
• Strong communication skills with site teams and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety reviews.
• Provide Health & Safety advice and guidance to site teams.
• Review RAMS and other site Health & Safety documentation.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and ensure actions are taken.
• Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across projects.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers and subcontractors on H&S matters.
• Produce reports and maintain accurate Health & Safety records.
• Support implementation and continuous improvement of H&S procedures.

We are currently working with an established main contractor who is looking to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor to support their construction projects across Oxford and the surrounding area.
