Job description
A Vacancy at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

We provide hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester. Our 20,000 colleagues care for people in hospital and in the community, working across Bury, Rochdale, Oldham and Salford, to save and improve lives.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in delivering high quality holistic care, ensuring that the patients’ dignity and equality is maintained at all times.
  • Assist the patient to meet their nutritional requirements.
  • Report any changes in the patients’/clients’ condition to the registered clinicians.
  • Assist with the moving and handling of patients ensuring that they are moved safely.
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations assisting the registered clinicians when indicated.
  • Communicate basic information to patients/clients and their carers maintaining confidentiality, dignity and respect.
  • Work through the competency framework appropriate to NVQ level 2 health care assistant.

Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.

Essential Duties
  • To correctly undertake tasks that have been delegated
  • To record information accurately and pass it to the relevant people in the team in a timely manner
  • To identify and report any changes that might affect the patient’s condition
  • To obtain agreement from patient/carers before commencing any care related tasks
  • To respect the individual’s privacy, dignity and beliefs
  • To prepare and support the patient appropriately during any activity that is to be undertaken
  • To promptly alert the team where there are any changes in the patient’s health and well-being or any possible risks
