Job Title: Healthcare Assistant - Interventional Radiology

University Hospitals Dorset offers an exciting opportunity to join a small team providing quality care to Interventional Radiology patients admitted for day case procedures in a newly created space at Bournemouth hospital.

This position is advertised as Band 3; however, applicants who do not meet the care certificate competencies will initially be employed as Band 2. Applicants holding a care certificate accreditation will start at Band 3.

Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital

Job Responsibilities:

1. Work effectively as part of a team under the supervision of a registered healthcare professional, providing dignified, compassionate, and safe care for patients.
2. Maintain high standards of documentation.
3. Undertake duties appropriate to the role, which may include working with patients of all ages, from children to older adults, depending on the speciality.
4. Ensure all duties are performed only after appropriate training or induction as per trust policies.
5. Communicate effectively across various channels and with diverse groups regarding day-to-day tasks.
6. Respond promptly to call bells, telephones, and other requests for assistance.
7. Promote good communication practices that support patient dignity, care, and safety.
8. Maintain a safe working environment for colleagues, patients, and oneself.
9. Provide high-quality compassionate care.
10. Communicate effectively with patients and visitors from diverse cultural backgrounds using verbal and non-verbal skills.
