Job summary

Waltham Toll Bar Academy is seeking a part-time Health Assistant (15 hours/week, term-time). The role involves providing First Aid on site, managing medical records, and coordinating with parents and health authorities.

Responsibilities

• Provides First Aid care within the Academy.

• Refers health issues to Vice Principal.
• Supervises self-administration of medication.
• Liaises with the school nurse.

Health Assistant - Waltham Toll Bar Academy

PART TIME 15 hours per week, Permanent (Hours negotiable)

LGAT 9 £29,418.00 pro rata. Actual Salary: £9,943.28

Term time (190 days per year)

Working Hours; Hours and days to be negotiated (2-3 days)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate Health Assistant to join our academy

• Provides First Aid care within the Academy
• Provides first aid in emergencies and contacts emergency services when necessary
• Maintains student’s Academy medical records through regular liaison with parents, Health Authorities and general practitioners
• Arranges routine medical checks
• Maintains medical stock and orders appropriate supplies
• Provides general medical advice on general hygiene matters
• Is fully conversant with current information on sexually transmitted infections and social drugs to make immediate referrals to the appropriate Vice Principal.
• Prepares routine correspondence
• Administrates dressings where needed
• Refers student’s health problems to parents and other interrelated agencies where needed
• Offers basic hygiene solutions to problematic students
• Supervises student’s self-administration of medication
• Reports to the responsible Vice Principal on matters relating to fighting bullying, students’ safety and Child Protection.
• Liaises with our designated school nurse
