Job summary

Bridgebank Ltd is seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to lead and continually improve health, safety and wellbeing across construction, plant hire and civil engineering operations.

You will promote a positive safety culture, ensure legislative compliance and support operational teams to reach high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate with site operatives, management and clients.
• Strong organisational and reporting skills.
• Hold a valid driving licence.
• Knowledge of HSE legislation and CDM Regulations.
• Ability to conduct site audits and investigate incidents.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety reviews.
• Produce and review Safety Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses with detailed reports and corrective actions.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and internal training sessions.
• Support site teams with practical safety guidance and problem solving.
• Liaise with clients and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with current HSE legislation, regulations and best practice.
• Drive continuous improvement and maintain Bridgebank's safety culture.

Job description

We are looking for a proactive Health & Safety Advisor who values career progression within a dynamic setting. You will help to lead and continuously improve health, safety and wellbeing standards across our construction, plant hire and civil engineering operations.

This role will play a key part in promoting a positive safety culture throughout the business, ensuring compliance with legislation, supporting best practice and operational teams across the business.

The successful candidate will work closely with Directors, Contracts Managers, site teams and sub contractors to ensure Bridgebank maintains its commitment in continuing to reach the very highest standards of Health, Safety and Environmental performance.

Health and Safety Advisor

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety reviews
• Produce and review Safety Method Statements and Risk Assessments
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, producing detailed reports and corrective actions
• Deliver Tool box talks, safety briefings and internal training sessions
• Support site teams with practical safety guidance and problem solving
• Liaise with clients and contractors
• Ensure compliance with all current HSE Legislation, regulations, and Industry best practice
• Drive continuous improvement and help to maintain, improve Bridgebank's strong and robust Safety Culture

Skills and Experience - Essential

• Ability to communicate effectively with site operatives, senior management and clients
• Strong organisational and reporting skills
• Full driving licence
• Working knowledge of HSE legislation and CDM Regulations
• Ability to conduct site audits and incident/accident investigations

Skills and Experience - Desirable

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or similar
• Working towards IOSH membership
• Working on large scale projects
