Principal People Recruitment is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor for the South West region with construction sector experience. The role blends site presence with home-based flexibility, traveling to sites and managing multiple projects with a collaborative safety function.

The candidate will write and review RAMS/SSOWs, drive safety improvements, and engage stakeholders to foster a proactive safety culture across operations.

Qualifications

• Essential NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate.
• Experience in construction, civil engineering or related industries.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support site teams and subcontractors with compliance through regular engagement and building effective relationships.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote a positive safety culture.
• Write and review RAMS and SSOWs.
• Drive continuous improvement across projects.
• Deliver toolbox talks and lead safety initiatives.
• Carry out site inspections, audits, and accident investigations.

Health & Safety Advisor – Up to GBP55,000 + Package – Construction Homebased –Bristol & Cardiff ID: 11523

Are you an Health & Safety professional who knows how a construction site operates? Are you looking for more autonomy, flexibility, and the chance to influence construction projects across the South West?

We re working with a well–established design & build contractor with a strong reputation in the industry and an exciting pipeline of work. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Health and Safety Advisor to support the projects in the region and the wider business from a more technical perspective.

You ll report into the Head of Health and Safety and work within a collaborative Health & Safety function collaboratively supporting and communicating with site teams building effective relationships.

This is a hybrid role travelling from home to site 4 days and working from home 1 day a week, offering flexibility while remaining close to operations.
