Polaris Education - Middlesbrough School seeks an exceptional Head Teacher to lead a nurturing, inclusive environment for pupils aged 5-18 with complex needs in Ormesby, Middlesbrough. The school accommodates up to 72 pupils and sits within the Polaris Community, with a track record of Good/Outstanding Ofsted ratings across the group.

Qualifications

• QTS with primary or secondary teaching experience.
• NPQH (not essential) or equivalent leadership qualification.
• Experience with pupils with SEN and a deep understanding of their needs.
• Proven leadership skills and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational leadership and implement a vision aligned with Polaris Community ethos and values.
• Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and implement safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Tailor the curriculum to meet diverse SEND needs and ensure engaging learning journeys.
• Champion pastoral care and SEN advocacy, aligned with EHCP objectives and wider educational community.
• Support and mentor staff and foster a collaborative, high-performing team.
• Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external partners to support pupil development.
