Polaris Education – Middlesbrough School is seeking an inspirational Headteacher to lead a small, inclusive setting for students aged 5-18 with SEN. You will shape the educational experience, drive academic progress, and ensure a nurturing environment that promotes wellbeing.

The role requires QTS, leadership experience and a commitment to compassionate inclusion, with involvement in safeguarding and curriculum development.

Qualifications

• QTS required with primary or secondary teaching experience.
• Experience with SEN students and understanding of needs.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational leadership and implement a vision aligned with Polaris ethos.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and implement safeguarding policies.
• Tailor curriculum to meet diverse SEN needs and ensure engaging learning.
• Lead staff development and mentor colleagues to foster teamwork.
• Engage with parents, carers and external partners to build a support network.
• Ensure compliance with Independent School Standards and Education Inspection Framework.
