Job summary

Inspiring Vet Care is seeking a Head Receptionist at Rowe Yate Surgery to lead and coordinate our reception team of eight. You will welcome clients and their pets, manage bookings, handle queries, and promote our Pet Healthcare Plans.

This part-time role combines people leadership with hands-on reception duties in a busy veterinary practice. You’ll work flexible patterns, support six other receptionists, and help deliver high standards of client care in a friendly, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Confident, approachable and highly organised with excellent communication skills.
• Experience in a veterinary reception environment.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supporting, guiding and coordinating our team of 8 receptionists.
• Greeting clients and their pets in a friendly, professional manner.
• Booking, cancelling and changing appointments.
• Dealing with client queries by telephone, email and face-to-face promptly and professionally.
• Advising clients on our preventative healthcare products.
• Promoting our Pet Healthcare Plans
• Dispensing medications and prescriptions in accordance with practice procedures.
• Taking payments and completing daily cashing-up procedures.
• Carrying out general administration and reception duties.
• Helping to maintain a smooth, efficient and welcoming reception environment.
• Supporting the team to provide consistently high standards of customer service.

We are looking for an experienced, organised and people-focused Head Receptionist to join the team at Rowe Yate Surgery on a part time basis, supporting and leading our team of six receptionists.

Rowe Vet Group have a 24-hour hospital in Bradley Stoke and branches in Thornbury, Yate, Winterbourne, Brimsham and Wotton-under-Edge. As a valued member of the reception team, you will be the first point of contact for pets and their owners.

As Head Receptionist, you will help oversee the day-to-day running of our busy reception and support the wider reception team to deliver an excellent client experience.

Working Pattern

Monday 8-5pm, Wednesday 1-7.30pm, Thursday 8-2pm, Friday 8-1.30pm

Salary £13.76 per/hr

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

We are looking for someone who is confident, approachable and highly organised, with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding client care. You will ideally have previous experience within a veterinary reception environment, with an understanding of the demands and pace of a busy veterinary practice. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience would be an advantage.
