Medivet & Partners in Wickford is seeking a Head Nurse to provide clinical leadership and exceptional patient care. You will work closely with the Branch Partner, supporting team development and fostering a collaborative culture.
Your responsibilities include managing nurse-led appointments, patient care, and inspiring the nursing team. Ideal candidates will be RCVS registered Veterinary Nurses with a passion for leadership and client care. As a Head Nurse, you will be accountable for the clinical leadership of the nursing team, ensuring we deliver exceptional care and are always there for our clients, patients and colleagues, whilst maintaining the highest levels of regulatory, practice and operational standards and compliance. Working closely with our Branch Partner, Susi Schoch, you will play a pivotal role in driving clinical excellence, supporting team development and fostering a positive and collaborative culture. Susi has been a Partner at the practice since 2008 and is passionate about mentoring and developing veterinary professionals, creating an environment where colleagues are supported to thrive and deliver outstanding patient care.
Our well-established Wickford practice cares for a diverse range of patients, including cats, dogs, rabbits, poultry and small mammals. With services including nurse clinics, dentistry, an in-house laboratory, ultrasound and digital radiography, this role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise and develop your clinical and leadership skills while helping to shape the future of the nursing team. You will be instrumental in championing patient welfare, delivering an exceptional client experience and inspiring the team to achieve the highest standards of care. The role also includes supporting the wider Medivet network, with 1 in 6 full weekends at the 24-hour hospital in Southend-on-Sea, two weeks of on-call cover per year, and 1-2 bank holidays annually.
