Job summary

Chattyvets in Surrey (Bisley, Woking) is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to advance into a Head Veterinary Nurse role. You will lead and develop the nursing team while remaining clinically hands-on, in a supportive, community-focused practice.

You will oversee nursing standards, patient care, and leadership development within a small animal team, with access to a wider clinical network and a nearby 24-hour hospital.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration is required
• Experience as a Veterinary Nurse in a small animal practice
• Proven leadership or senior nursing experience or a strong aspiration to progress into leadership
• Excellent clinical and patient care standards
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Collaborative approach and confidence to lead by example

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding patient and client care
• Lead nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities
• Support veterinary consultations, surgeries and procedures
• Monitor patients and manage admissions and discharges
• Provide clinical leadership, support and development to the nursing team
• Help maintain high clinical, regulatory and operational standards
• Support colleagues and foster a positive, collaborative team culture
• Develop nursing standards and best practice
