VetMatch in Surrey is seeking an experienced Head RVN to lead and mentor a dedicated nursing team, uphold clinical standards and shape the future of the practice.
The role focuses on people as well as nursing, with dentistry-centered facilities; you will develop skills, support staff welfare and maintain high patient care.
Are you an experienced Head RVN who genuinely loves nursing, enjoys leading a team and wants to make a real difference to the people you work with?
This independent veterinary practice in Surrey is looking for a passionate and people-focused Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to take a leading role in supporting its nursing team, developing clinical standards and helping shape the future of the practice.
This is an opportunity for an RVN who thrives on leadership, enjoys bringing out the best in others and understands that a happy, supported nursing team is at the heart of a successful practice.
The practice has a strong focus on dentistry, with a full suite of dental facilities, making this an exciting environment for a nurse who enjoys high clinical standards and wants to help develop the team's skills and confidence in this area.
The focus of this role is as much about people as it is about nursing.
You’ll be someone who enjoys mentoring and supporting colleagues, creating a positive team culture and helping nurses feel valued, listened to and motivated. You’ll play an important part in the day-to-day running of the nursing team, supporting organisation, workflow, clinical standards and ongoing development.
Ideally, you’ll already have experience in a Head RVN or senior nursing leadership role and feel confident taking responsibility for a team. You’ll enjoy the balance of leading from the front while remaining approachable and supportive, helping colleagues grow in confidence and ensuring the nursing team has the structure and encouragement it needs to thrive.
As an independent practice, there’s a genuine emphasis on looking after the people who work there. The team is cohesive and collaborative, with a vet-focused ethos and a commitment to giving staff the opportunity to progress. This is a role where your ideas can be heard, your leadership can make a tangible difference, and you can help create an environment in which nurses feel proud of the work they do.
The practice is also open to discussing flexible working arrangements, recognising that experienced leaders have commitments outside work too. The aim is to find the right person and a working pattern that works for both sides.
Based in a lovely part of Surrey, with good connections across London and the surrounding areas, this is a great opportunity to join an independent practice where people, clinical care and professional development genuinely matter.
If you’re an experienced Head RVN who loves nursing, enjoys developing people and wants to lead a team in a practice that genuinely values its staff, this could be an excellent next step. The practice is looking for someone who will bring enthusiasm, compassion and leadership to the role, helping its nursing team flourish while continuing to deliver outstanding patient care.
