Job summary

Chattyvets is seeking a Head Veterinary Nurse in Surrey. The role offers leadership of the nursing team, shaping the practice, and maintaining high clinical standards. The position includes nurse-led appointments, Schedule 3 activities and close collaboration with the hospital network.

The successful candidate will be RCVS-registered, enjoy coaching colleagues and will participate in hospital rota and weekend shifts to support comprehensive patient care.

Head Veterinary Nurse – Surrey

Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE | Contract: Permanent | Hours: Full Time

Are you an experienced RVN ready to take the next step into a leadership role? This could be a great opportunity to join a growing, community-focused practice in Surrey, where you’ll have the autonomy to help shape the nursing team and make a real impact.

The Role

• Full-time Head Veterinary Nurse position
• Lead, support and develop the nursing team
• Help shape the day-to-day running and continued development of the practice
• Maintain high clinical and regulatory standards
• Nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities
• Support consultations, surgery and procedures
• Patient monitoring, admissions and discharges
• Coach and develop colleagues
• Work closely with the Practice Partner and wider leadership team
• 8-hour shift at a nearby 24-hour hospital every fourth weekend, alternating between Saturdays and Sundays
• Participation in the hospital on-call rota
• Opportunity to maintain and broaden your clinical skills through exposure to more complex cases
