Purosearch Ltd. is recruiting a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse in Surrey to join a forward‑thinking practice.

You’ll blend hands‑on clinical work with leadership, coaching and day‑to‑day management, supporting and developing the nursing team while maintaining high clinical standards. The role offers five weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays, a generous CPD package with £750 and 2 CPD days, funded certificates, health and wellbeing support, life cover at 3x salary and additional perks.

As Head Veterinary Nurse, you’ll be a key part of the practice leadership team, combining hands-on clinical work with leadership, coaching and day-to-day management. You’ll support and develop the nursing team, maintain high clinical standards and help create a positive, well-organised environment where both people and patients can thrive. With plenty of autonomy and support from the Partner, you’ll have the opportunity to make your mark and build the kind of nursing team you’re proud to lead.

The Opportunity

5 weeks’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing with length of service, plus an additional paid ‘Day for You’.

£750 CPD allowance and 2 days’ paid CPD leave each year, alongside access to internal learning and Clinical Communities.

The Rota

• 8-hour shift at the nearby 24-hour hospital every fourth weekend.
• Weekend hospital shifts will alternate between Saturdays and Sundays.
• Participate in the hospital’s on-call rota.
• Gain valuable exposure to more complex cases, advanced diagnostics and hospital-level care.
• Bring new knowledge and experience back to the practice to strengthen the wider nursing team.
