Job summary

Chattyvets in Surrey (Bisley, Woking) is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to advance into a Head Veterinary Nurse role. You will lead and develop the nursing team while remaining clinically hands-on, in a supportive, community-focused practice.

You will oversee nursing standards, patient care, and leadership development within a small animal team, with access to a wider clinical network and a nearby 24-hour hospital.

Qualifications

  • RCVS registration is required
  • Experience as a Veterinary Nurse in a small animal practice
  • Proven leadership or senior nursing experience or a strong aspiration to progress into leadership
  • Excellent clinical and patient care standards
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Collaborative approach and confidence to lead by example

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding patient and client care

Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) looking for your next step into a Head Veterinary Nurse or senior nursing leadership role?

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Head Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly, community-focused small animal practice in Bisley, Woking, Surrey. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced RVN who is passionate about high standards of patient care, team development and clinical leadership.

You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team where pets and their owners are treated like family, while benefiting from access to a wider clinical network and a nearby 24-hour hospital.

The Role

As Head Veterinary Nurse, you’ll play a key role in leading and developing the nursing team while continuing to work hands-on clinically.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing outstanding patient and client care
  • Leading nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities
  • Supporting veterinary consultations, surgeries and procedures
  • Monitoring patients and managing admissions and discharges
  • Providing clinical leadership, support and development to the nursing team
  • Helping to maintain high clinical, regulatory and operational standards
  • Supporting colleagues and encouraging a positive, collaborative team culture
  • Taking an active role in developing nursing standards and best practice

About You

We’re looking for an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse who is ready to take the next step in their career or an experienced Head/Senior RVN looking for a new challenge.

You’ll ideally have:

  • RCVS registration
  • Experience working as a Veterinary Nurse within a small animal practice
  • Previous leadership or senior nursing experience, or a strong desire to progress into leadership
  • Excellent clinical and patient care standards
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting, developing and motivating colleagues
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to lead by example
