An exciting opportunity for an experienced RVN to take the next step in their career

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Head RVN to lead a fantastic nursing team at a well-established, modern veterinary practice in Bristol.

This role has become available due to the relocation of the current Head Nurse, creating an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take on a leadership position within a supportive and progressive team.

As Head RVN, you’ll play a key role in leading the nursing team and supporting the delivery of consistently high standards of clinical care and customer service. You’ll be joining a friendly team who are passionate about their patients, their clients and supporting one another.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an RVN with a strong level of clinical experience who is:

  • Confident and self-motivated

  • A natural leader who enjoys bringing out the best in others

  • Engaging, approachable and supportive

  • Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care

  • Keen to support the ongoing professional development of RVNs, student nurses and VCAs

  • Organised and able to thrive in a busy clinical environment

Previous leadership or senior nursing experience would be advantageous, but we’re also keen to hear from experienced RVNs who are ready to take the next step into a leadership role.

The role
  • Salary: £34,000 – £42,000 depending on experience

  • Working pattern: 4 days per week

  • Shifts: 9-hour shifts

  • Weekends: 1:4 weekends

  • Duty nights: On a rotational basis

  • Location: Bristol

What you’ll be joining

You’ll be working in a purpose-built, modern veterinary practice with fantastic facilities and a team who are passionate about providing the very best care to patients around the clock.

The practice has recently undergone an impressive refurbishment, making excellent use of the clinical areas to create a smooth workflow and support the delivery of outstanding patient care.

The team has a broad range of clinical interests and specialisms, with many colleagues working towards additional certificates to further develop their skills and expand the services available to patients.

This is a great opportunity to join a team where clinical development, collaboration and high standards of care are genuinely valued.

Benefits

We’re committed to attracting and retaining the best people in the veterinary profession, and offer a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • Rewards scheme

  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay

  • Income protection

  • Electric car scheme

  • Employee benefits and discounts

  • Health and wellbeing support

  • Veterinary surgery discount

  • CPD allowance

  • 20 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays

  • Internal leadership training and development

This is an excellent opportunity if you're looking for a rewarding role, strong team culture, excellent work-life balance and the opportunity to develop within a high-quality veterinary practice.
