Job summary

Chattyvets in Central London is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to step into a Head Veterinary Nurse role, leading a dedicated nursing team and upholding the highest standards of patient care and client service.

The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership, mentor colleagues and support the team across nursing duties, with a strong focus on patient welfare and client communication. This role offers development opportunities and a collaborative practice environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team and ensure high standards of patient care

Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) looking for your next step into a leadership role? We’re looking for a passionate and confident Head Veterinary Nurse to join a supportive small animal practice in Central London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced RVN to take the lead within a dedicated nursing team, providing outstanding clinical care while supporting, developing and inspiring colleagues.

The Role

As Head Veterinary Nurse, you’ll provide clinical leadership to the nursing team while helping to maintain the highest standards of patient care, client service, regulatory compliance and day-to-day practice operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing exceptional patient care and supporting the wider veterinary team
• Leading nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities
• Supporting consultations, surgical procedures and theatre activity
• Monitoring patients and managing admissions and discharges
• Ensuring high clinical, regulatory and operational standards are maintained
• Providing leadership, support and development to the nursing team
• Helping colleagues reach their potential through coaching and mentoring
• Promoting a positive, collaborative and supportive working environment
• Acting as a role model for excellent patient and client care

About You

You’ll be a RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with a genuine passion for high-quality patient and client care.

Ideally, you’ll have previous leadership or senior nursing experience and be confident supporting and developing a team. However, applications are also welcomed from experienced RVNs who are ready to take the next step into a Head Veterinary Nurse position.
