Job Description

As Technical Director, you will be responsible for the smooth running of engineering services across the contract, ensuring quality standards, statutory compliance, and alignment with operational objectives. You will lead technical initiatives, manage financial performance, and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration. This role demands a proactive leader who can balance strategic oversight with operational delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction and driving value through best practices and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical authority for the account, ensuring compliance with ISO 55001 and SFG20 standards.
  • Oversee engineering service delivery across the contract to meet agreed quality and statutory obligations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in asset performance, reliability, and lifecycle value.
  • Lead technical services initiatives to achieve cost savings, risk management, and operational consistency.
  • Manage financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and margin protection.
  • Develop and implement standard operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Serve as the single point of escalation for technical services and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure adherence to contractual obligations, KPIs, and service level agreements.
  • Promote health and safety best practices and enforce zero tolerance for unsafe working conditions.
  • Support transition programs and ensure compliance with training, accreditation, and statutory requirements.
  • Represent the organisation in external forums and client functions.
Professional and Personal Competencies / Qualifications
  • Practical experience in technical services within building services, preferably in integrated facilities management.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 55001 and SFG20 standards.
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in strategic asset management and compliance management.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Skilled in commercial aspects of engineering contracts.
  • Ability to develop processes, procedures, and drive operational excellence.
  • Analytical and systematic approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, innovate, and deliver results in complex environments.
