Job summary

Quantum Base, based in Lancaster, seeks a Head of Software Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, mathematicians and physicists. You will drive technical excellence for our Q-ID platform, balancing hands-on coding with strategic leadership.

Qualifications

8+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
Strong background in physics, mathematics or a closely related discipline.
Experience with ML/algorithms applied to real-world systems.
Familiar with Agile and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, mathematicians and physicists.
Define technical vision and strategy for software development to scale platform.
Oversee development and deployment of scalable, high-performing applications.
Ensure code quality, testing and documentation best practices.
Collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver on objectives.
