Job summary

IonQ, Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking a Director, Systems Software to guide the software stack powering our quantum computers.

You will lead a team of around twenty software engineers and collaborate with world-leading quantum scientists to plan and deliver a full-stack platform—from real-time control and monitoring through an IR and quantum compiler layer—to support internal and external customers. This role emphasizes establishing and evolving development, devops, release, and 3rd line

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing a software organisation containing tens of engineers and subject matter experts.
• Track record in setting priorities, clear expectations and delivering results for internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the software team and work with other technical teams to build and maintain long-term roadmaps for our various software projects.
• Drive development, devops, release and third-line support processes as the stack matures.
• Collaborate with quantum scientists to ensure software aligns with research and customer needs.
• Provide clear updates on issues and progress to all stakeholders.
