Walker and Sloan are once again working with a full serviced marketing agency in Bath, as they are looking to appoint a Head of SEO to their team on a full time basis.

Location: Bath UK, Hybrid working

Job Type: Permanent

About the role:

SEO Head responsibilities

  • Initiate, advise, and collaborate on digital campaigns for our client base
  • Engagement strategies
  • Monthly, quarterly, and yearly reviews
  • Creation and implementation of SEO strategies
  • Achieve organic search optimisation and ROI maximisation

Definition of KPIs

  • Creation and presentation of SEO and email reports and dashboards with clear communication and actions
  • Identify our client's customer personas to better target identified audiences
  • Identify problems and implement solutions in a timely manner
  • Help support the wider team to create further efficiencies within service lines and delivery
  • Provide SEO input to website builds projects, working alongside UX, design and development teams
  • Collaborate with the broader team including Social, Client Services, Creative and Web Developers
  • Collaboration with the wider AUK team on internal strategy planning and pitch work

Departmental responsibilities

Digital Media Support: Understanding of and regular referral to client activity plans, demonstration of a comprehensive understanding of client objectives, working with the team to deploy the digital strategies and tactics to meet those objectives.

Campaign Planning: Working with your senior peers in your team as well as Tech, Client Services, Strategy, and Creative teams to develop effective digital-first campaigns to reach core audiences and drive results. Be proficient at understanding analytics and industry performance tools to evaluate results.

Knowledge management: Develop knowledge of the client’s businesses, business objectives, and the sector in which they operate to ensure you can write and speak knowledgeably on client industries and SEO trends, make informed recommendations, and proactively develop and deploy tactics.

Client relationships: Help your senior peers in your team respond to SEO-related queries from clients across the agency.

Reporting and information sharing: Responsible for timely, efficient, and accurate reporting of AUK’s client’s digital campaigns as well as supporting your senior team. Contribute to the reporting and analysis of any SEO campaigns and share key learnings with the wider team to help optimise future campaigns. Meeting management is done by keeping agendas and notes, particularly for monthly report meetings.

Account profitability: Help your senior team maintain account profitability through accurate time and service level recording.

  • Team following: Be a positive, proactive, and energised member of the team that others trust, follow, and want to work with.
  • Internal communication: Develop good working relationships with other departments within the agency.
  • Account administration and information management: Ensure systems for client and agency information are managed appropriately, reports are kept up-to-date, and files and folders are used effectively.
  • Agency profile: Assist in the development and management of AUK’s profile in the wider marketing and communications industry, through relevant social channel

Your skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years SEO experience at a management level
  • Knowledge and experience working across a range of sectors including health care, B2B and FMCG
  • Number 1 Brand Strategy Agency Winner 2020 (under 40 staff) by The Drum Recommends.
  • Number 1 Advertising Agency Winner 2019 (under 40 staff) by The Drum Recommends.
  • Ranked Independent Agency of the Year in 2015, 16, 17 by the Drum.
