Job summary

Education Experts is representing an outstanding Birmingham-based setting recruiting a Head of SEND/SENCO (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) for a permanent appointment. The role starts in October 2026 or January 2027, with a competitive annual salary up to £56,909 (TLR £5,195).

The successful candidate will lead SEND provision in a secondary/sixth form environment, work with a strong leadership team, and play a pivotal part in shaping an inclusive curriculum and student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience working with pupils with SEND
• Strong leadership and collaboration with staff

Responsibilities

• Set high expectations to inspire, motivate and challenge SEND students with support of your own team
• Lead SENCO responsibilities and coordinate with partner schools for placements
• Ensure safeguarding standards and complete safer recruitment checks including DBS
