Job summary

St Leger Homes Doncaster seeks an experienced Head of Repairs and Maintenance to provide strategic and operational leadership across repairs, maintenance, voids and stores services. You will lead a large, directly employed workforce with contractors where appropriate, ensuring safety, reliability and customer satisfaction.

The role reports to Property Services and requires strong leadership, technical and commercial judgement, plus a track record of delivering improvements and value for money.

Qualifications

• You will already be operating at Head of Service level or have substantial experience as a senior manager.
• Strong track record of leading complex, high-volume essential services and delivering measurable improvement.
• Experience in repairs/maintenance, voids, mechanical and electrical services, or related property services.
• Experience leading services with a large direct labour workforce, including workforce planning and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for repairs, maintenance, voids and related property services.
• Lead service delivery predominantly through a directly employed labour workforce, ensuring the right capacity, skills and deployment to meet customer demand.
• Deliver safe, compliant, efficient and customer-focused services against agreed performance and financial targets.
• Lead, develop and motivate managers, supervisors and trade teams, embedding high standards and accountability.
• Improve workforce productivity and right-first-time delivery while optimising resources and materials.
• Use performance data, customer insight and technology to drive service improvement.
• Manage budgets, specialist contracts, resources and risks effectively, demonstrating value for money.
• Build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, contractors and key stakeholders.
