Job summary

MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Pre-Construction Manager for a leading construction contractor delivering high-quality fit-out and refurbishment across the UK and Ireland. This role leads the growing estimating function and shapes bid strategy on high-value projects.

The successful candidate will oversee the estimating team, develop win strategies, manage tenders from opportunity to award, and collaborate with senior management to drive commercial success.

Qualifications

• Strong estimating experience in construction, ideally fit-out/refurbishment.
• Experience leading an estimating team.
• Experience delivering projects up to £30m.
• Understanding of single-stage, two-stage and negotiated tenders.
• Experience with estimating software.
• Strong commercial, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the estimating team.
• Develop bid win strategies and programmes with senior management.
• Oversee tenders from initial opportunity through to award and handover.
• Review tender documentation and identify key risks and opportunities.
• Lead internal and external tender meetings.
• Develop competitive pricing strategies based on market conditions.
• Support new business development and client relationships.
• Mentor and develop the estimating team.
