Job summary

OnCommerce is undergoing a major transformation of its platform and operating model across Buyer and Seller domains. The senior leader will balance live delivery with ongoing evolution, owning engineering standards, resilience, and delivery across the current platform and target architecture.

The Head of Platform Engineering will lead teams, align with Transformation and Solution Architecture Leads, and drive secure, scalable delivery while navigating change and ambiguity in a rapidly growing

Qualifications

• Strong full-stack engineering background with Laravel/PHP.
• Proven people leadership and hiring experience.
• Experience leading an engineering transformation while keeping live platform running.
• Strong API design and system architecture experience.
• Experience with MySQL and modern data stores (MongoDB/Couchbase/Redis) and GCP.
• Experience with MACH/composable architectures and multi-cloud.
• Startup/scale-up experience in ambiguous environments.
• Ability to work with Node.js/Go/Python when needed.

Responsibilities

• Define ownership boundaries across engineering domains.
• Hold delivery steady through transformation disruptions.
• Lead engineering capability across squads including DevOps.
• Foster ownership, accountability, and continual improvement.
• Own resource planning including capacity and on-call structure.
• Establish two-tier resolver model for incidents.
• Embed secure coding practices and OWASP standards.
• Deliver roadmaps with scalable architecture.
