Job summary

Mortgage Advice Bureau is seeking a Head of Platform Engineering to lead our Platform Engineering and cloud infrastructure teams from our Derby office. This hybrid role focuses on shaping the platform strategy, driving engineering excellence and aligning delivery with business growth.

You will guide senior engineers, champion modern practices, and oversee reliability, security and scalability across our technology estate. This leadership role balances strategic direction with hands-on delivery.

Qualifications

Proven leadership of engineering teams.
Strong AWS and cloud platform experience.
Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform.

Responsibilities

Lead Platform Engineering team and set priorities.
Define platform strategy and ensure delivery outcomes.
Provide senior technical leadership across cloud infra and engineering practices.
Drive reliability, security, and operational excellence.
Champion IaC, automation, CI/CD, observability, cloud ops.
Lead incident management and readiness of critical platforms.
Collaborate with Architecture, Security and Tech leaders.
