Job description

This is an exciting time for an ambitious and self-driven individual to join us as the Head of New Business. Working with the NHS, you will be able to navigate the NHS system to horizon scan for potential opportunities, forge meaningful relationships, and identify tender opportunities that will drive commercial growth.

Main duties of the job

As Head of New Business, you will act as an ambassador for SELDOC and our brand. You will be people-focused, with a proven ability to build new relationships and seize opportunities that foster innovative growth. Your responsibilities will include managing and driving the bid process, bringing energy and expertise to win NHS and other sector tenders, and seeking out further tender opportunities.

You should be a self-starter with proven experience in delivering effective new business strategies and plans. Ideally, you will have led sales activities to meet targets and enhance brand credentials. As an effective leader, you will have demonstrated the ability to build and nurture relationships with corporate customers in the NHS and the not-for-profit sector, consistently delivering targeted outcomes.

You will divide your time between our London Office and face-to-face meetings with individuals and organizations. Leading growth and commercial opportunities is a strategic priority, and you will be expected to create and implement a plan for new business, supported by the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team.

About us

SELDOC is a patient-first primary and urgent care provider for the NHS, serving NHS patients across South London for nearly 30 years. We are commissioned by the NHS to deliver healthcare services within the South East London region, including hospitals, GP practices, PCNs, Federations, and the London Ambulance Service, providing unscheduled and urgent care services, including support for NHS 111.

Founded as a GP cooperative, we are owned by approximately 100 practices across South East London and are committed to supporting our members. With a turnover of £11m, our primary focus is NHS primary care, including GP practices and hospitals. We are also working towards establishing services in the private sector under our Verve brand.

Job responsibilities

As detailed above, your role involves acting as an ambassador for SELDOC, building relationships, managing bid processes, and leading new business initiatives. You will work closely with the leadership team to develop and execute strategies that support our growth and service delivery objectives.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Proven experience of delivering effective new business strategies and plans that generate high revenues
  • Experience in leading sales activities to meet targets and strengthen brand credentials
  • Deep understanding of healthcare and NHS operations
  • Ability to develop and execute successful sales campaigns
  • Experience as a senior leader in a relevant sector
  • University degree or equivalent qualification
