Job summary

Ormiston Victory Academy in Norwich is seeking a Head of Music to lead the Performing Arts Department and coordinate all musical activities for students. The role emphasises teaching across KS3/KS4/KS5, developing the department, and driving engaging musical experiences for pupils.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding professional who is passionate about music, able to inspire others, and committed to raising attainment within a busy academy environment.

Ormiston Victory is an innovative, positive and ambitious academy seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and ambitious Head of Music to join our busy Performing Arts Department. This position offers a fulfilling opportunity to be part of a successful, friendly and dedicated team committed to ensuring every student achieves their true potential, playing a key role in the co-ordination and arrangement for all musical activities for students across the academy.

The successful applicant will be an outstanding professional who is passionate about their subject and is determined to develop the teaching of music so that students of all abilities enjoy their learning and are motivated to succeed. The TLR is dependent on experience and will be discussed with candidates.

The excellent performances at Victory have been met with critical acclaim over many years - we value this curriculum area highly and believe it is critical to ensuring our students are able to express themselves with confidence and presence. Amongst the alumni is Hollywood actor Sam Claflin who remains supportive of the Costessey community. Our annual performances include a major production (Charlie & The Chocolate Factory , Frozen, Shrek, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Six) collaborations with other Ormiston Academies and in 2019 we won the People’s Choice Award in the EDP Norfolk Arts Awards. We are an Artsmark Platinum school and are very proud of the performing arts opportunities we provide for our students.
