Job summary

Ormiston Victory Academy in Norwich is seeking a dedicated Learning and Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 3 students facing barriers to learning.

You will deliver 1:1 interventions and small group social communication support, build positive relationships with students and staff, and participate in training and staff meetings.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working with young people with special educational needs in an education setting.
  • Ability to deliver 1:1 intervention, small group social communication and interactive interventions.
  • Ability to form positive relationships and work effectively with other key staff.
  • Willingness to undertake training and attend meetings as necessary.
  • NVQ level 2 in related area or equivalent or willing to undertake training.

Ormiston Victory is an innovative, positive and ambitious academy which is seeking to recruit an appropriately experienced, enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join our dedicated, supportive and highly effective team of Learning and Teaching Assistants.

We are seeking an individual that can work specifically with Key Stage 3 students struggling to engage with their education. The successful applicant’s key role will be to work with our students to eliminate any barriers to their academic progress.

Good interpersonal skills are required together with the ability to earn and maintain the respect of students. Applicants for this post must be enthusiastic and possess a determined character, together with a positive approach to working with young people and the ability to set clear guidelines for them.
