Job summary

Stride in Swindon (Wiltshire) is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to oversee mechanical systems at a large site. You will manage maintenance, compliance and performance of critical systems, leading a team to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Responsibilities include contract management, overseeing the preventive maintenance programme, statutory maintenance supervision and asset lifecycle planning, with opportunities to lead capital projects and develop the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering qualifications and experience in regulated environments.
• Experience as an Authorised Person for mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including process equipment.
• Familiarity with CAFM or asset management systems.
• Leadership and team management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage specialist contracts, ensuring compliance and service quality.
• Oversee PPM programme and ensure plant reliability.
• Supervise statutory compliance maintenance and ensure accurate documentation.
• Contribute to asset lifecycle planning and risk identification.
• Support capital projects and manage technical specifications.
• Provide leadership, training, and development to the engineering team.
• Deputise for senior management and coordinate with other teams.
