Job summary

Stride is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to oversee mechanical systems at a large, complex site in Swindon. You will lead maintenance, compliance and performance of critical equipment.

You’ll manage a team, coordinate with contractors, and drive safety, reliability and asset lifecycle planning. This permanent, full-time role offers a challenging environment and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering qualifications (experience in regulated environments).
• Experience as an Authorised Person for mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including process equipment.
• Familiarity with CAFM or asset management systems.
• Leadership and team management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage specialist contracts, ensuring compliance and service quality.
• Oversee PPM programme and ensure plant reliability.
• Supervise statutory compliance maintenance and ensure accurate documentation.
• Contribute to asset lifecycle planning and risk identification.
• Support capital projects and manage technical specifications.
• Provide leadership, training, and development to the engineering team.
• Deputise for senior management and coordinate with other teams.
