Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Head of Maintenance for a care home, responsible for a clean, well-maintained environment that supports residents and staff.

You will lead the maintenance team, work across building and grounds, liaise with contractors, and assist the General Manager with annual budget planning. This role requires hands-on maintenance experience and a proactive approach to site management.

Qualifications

• Hands-on property maintenance experience.
• At least one trade skill and ability to undertake a wide range of tasks.
• Reliable and flexible with working hours.
• Full UK driving licence, IT literacy, GCSEs in Maths and English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance across the care home building, gardens and grounds.
• Lead a maintenance team and support the General Manager with budgeting.
• Liaise with contractors for work outside the team’s scope.
• Ensure a warm, well-maintained environment for residents and staff.
