Job summary

Barchester Care Home is seeking a Head of Maintenance to keep a clean, welcoming environment for residents and staff while leading a maintenance team and supporting the General Manager with budget planning.

You will handle a range of tasks from fixing leaks to grounds maintenance, and you’ll coordinate with contractors for specialised work. A UK driving licence, IT literacy and GCSEs in Maths and English are required, along with hands-on experience and at least one trade skill.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience of property maintenance.
• At least one trade skill and ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks.
• Full UK driving licence, IT literacy and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead a maintenance team and support the General Manager with annual budget planning.
• Liaise with contractors for work outside the team’s expertise.
• Maintain a clean, well‑kept environment in the care home and in gardens/grounds.
