The role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Maintenance to lead the Maintenance Department for the Bradfield Group, which includes Bradfield College and St Andrew’s Prep School.
As Head of Maintenance, you will be responsible for the upkeep, compliance, and improvement of our extensive and diverse property portfolio, ensuring that all commercial and residential assets are maintained to the highest standards and in line with regulations.
Joining our well-motivated Maintenance Department, you will help oversee the maintenance of 35 commercial buildings and over 100 domestic properties, ranging from Grade II listed to modern builds, ensuring they meet high standards and comply with relevant regulations.
You will manage projects that contribute towards the improvement of the College’s extensive property portfolio, whilst supporting the delivery and continual development of our reactive and planned preventative maintenance programmes. Your role will be integral to maintaining the building fabric, building services, infrastructure and assets in support of the College’s Estates strategy.
About you
To be considered for this role, you will hold an IWFM Level 5 qualification or equivalent, alongside an ILM Level 5 qualification. You will also need to hold a recognised qualification in surveying, project management or general construction, and possess a full and relevant driving licence. Demonstrable experience in managing building maintenance and projects in a live operational environment is essential, as is a strong track record of managing planned and reactive maintenance programmes. A sound knowledge of maintenance methods, processes, and environmental and energy conservation practices is also required.
