Maintenance Expert

Supports the development and systematic deployment of the Corporate Mining Technical Standards and Safety Guidelines. This role aims to define maintenance strategies, policies, and guidelines for all mines of ArcelorMittal. The primary focus is to reduce risks inherent to operational and maintenance activities across the Group by applying a strong Process Safety Management system.

The function includes standardizing maintenance processes across all mining units and continuously seeking innovations and best industry practices.

Acting as the second layer of assurance in the Mining Governance Structure, the job holder will participate in benchmarking activities and be involved in all aspects of strategic maintenance projects, from planning to execution. They will ensure that the technical corporate standards are effectively implemented across ArcelorMittal mining operations and measure compliance levels against these standards.

Additionally, this role involves supporting the unit’s management teams by providing guidance, technical expertise, training, and sharing knowledge through communities of practice.

Responsibilities

• Encourages, fosters, and leads by example on Health & Safety and Environmental aspects as Group number 1 priority.
• Supports mining operations in ensuring safe maintenance practices in line with Corporate Process Safety and Technical Standards, Guidelines, and Policies.
• Seeks innovative solutions to enhance safety, minimize risks, comply with regulations, and optimize maintenance practices.
• Implements a Process Safety Management program supporting maintenance and operational activities.
• Delivers maintenance frameworks, strategies, policies, and guidelines for the mining group.
• Assesses gaps or deviations between company standards and operative procedures at various mining sites.
• Organizes internal peer reviews and external assessments for ArcelorMittal mining assets according to governance requirements.
• Shares maintenance best practices, leveraging networks and promoting knowledge exchange within the group through communities of practice.
• Acts as Subject Matter Expert for capital requests related to maintenance activities.
• Supports the implementation of software solutions and technologies to modernize and standardize maintenance practices.
• Promotes a high-performance culture and fosters open, genuine, and sustainable relationships with stakeholders, aligning with the company's vision.

Profile of job holder

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, including project engineering and management from design to execution.
• PSM training or certification.
• Proven ability to implement and promote safe working practices.
• Extensive Process Safety Management experience.
• Deep experience in mining operations with mobile and fixed equipment.
• Strong understanding of industry best practices and ability to improve processes through standardization and collaboration.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and maintenance planning.
• Experience in commissioning and start-up of new equipment.
• Successful track record of innovations and safety initiatives.
