Role overview
You will be responsible for delivering the Inside sales strategy for budgets set by the business across multiple verticals and propositions. Reporting to the Sales Director, you will drive growth within our spot and recurring revenue lines by creating opportunities and strategies using data sources. Your focus will be on expanding JLA’s footprint within existing accounts and acquiring new customers across various industry sectors, including SME & Key National accounts, contributing to the overall success measured by orders won.
Key tasks
- Deliver against the sales strategy for the Inside sales teams to meet financial budgets.
- Manage and analyze results across all verticals, identifying trends, successes, and challenges to inform data strategy initiatives.
- Work closely with team leaders to ensure effective lead management, conversion, upselling, and upskilling.
- Report on revenue performance regularly and lead sales team leaders.
- Use data to monitor performance and manage weekly/monthly results for teams and individuals.
- Implement performance management through coaching, 121’s, training, development, and delegation aligned with objectives from BDE to Executive level.
- Grow potential in existing accounts and acquire new clients by exploring new verticals and opportunities using data-driven decisions.
- Represent JLA’s internal sales opportunities, ensuring delivery of contracted revenue across all verticals.
- Lead strategic projects to improve efficiency and productivity of business development teams.
- Provide commercial leadership to encourage a holistic approach to capturing business and exploring new ventures.
- Develop action plans to enhance BDE effectiveness, processes, and client relationships, including renewal retention.
- Create and deliver presentations on quarterly and half-year performance against budgets and expectations.
- Ensure effective handling of inbound and outbound traffic across all teams.
People Management
- Create a culture of effective people management.
- Work with the Sales Director to set coaching and sales improvement plans with accountability.
- Set clear objectives for team leaders, providing regular feedback on performance.
- Support your team to achieve their roles effectively.
- Manage employee relations issues per company policies.
- Coach and develop staff to perform at high levels, maintaining product and service knowledge.
- Address training needs with the L&D and QA teams for ongoing development.
Service Delivery
- Understand and promote service delivery excellence, ensuring quality sales outputs.
- Foster a culture of excellent customer service and maximize lead opportunities.
- Collaborate with other teams such as Planning & Dispatch, Operations, CMT, Sales Ops, QA, L&D, Customer Success, etc.
Knowledge and Skills
- Possess knowledge of most or all verticals within JLA for informed decision-making and opportunity identification.
- Be a strong communicator capable of engaging with varied team leaders and colleagues at different levels.
- Understand the product and service offerings to ensure compliant and effective sales.
- Coordinate with various functions to ensure successful order delivery with a customer-centric approach.
- Plan weekly activities aligned with business needs, communicating effectively with the Sales Director and working across sites.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of products and services across all verticals.
- Be able to present business cases to lead and execute growth strategies.

- Proven success in achieving ambitious growth targets and managing budgets.
