TeacherActive is working with a thriving 11-16 Academy in Birmingham to appoint a Head of History on a long-term basis with the potential to go permanent. The role leads the History department, develops a well-sequenced curriculum and monitors teaching and pupil progress across all year groups, including GCSE.

Qualifications

• QTS with a History specialization.
• Experience teaching History in secondary school including GCSE.
• Experience raising standards and monitoring progress.
• Excellent subject knowledge and modelling best practice.
• Strong leadership and behaviour management.
• Motivate and develop History department staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the History department and develop an ambitious curriculum.
