Job Description

We are recruiting a Head of Health and Safety.

This role involves developing, overseeing, managing, and supporting all management and compliance systems to ensure a safe working environment for staff, stakeholders, and customers. You will also oversee compliance with all relevant Health and Safety regulations for LGAH businesses acting as employer, landlord, and developer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage ongoing compliance with ISO45001 across the businesses.
• Oversee health and safety assurance activities, including the implementation of the Landlord Assurance model and CDM site safety assurance.
• Act as the responsible person for safety and compliance, including incident investigation and reporting.
• Manage procurement and relationships with specialists providing competent person, fire safety, and other services.
• Support certification processes for quality standards within the Quality Management system.
• Ensure health and safety policies are current and compliant with regulations and sector best practices.
• Develop and report safety and compliance performance metrics, fostering a culture of learning and improvement.
• Manage safety and compliance risks in collaboration with relevant teams.
• Work with business teams to embed safety and compliance in all processes, from site acquisition to management.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have:

• Experience managing ISO quality standards.
• A strong commitment to safety and compliance.
• Experience working in evolving environments with collaboration and process development.
• Knowledge of HSE and regulatory bodies, with a track record of developing robust H&S processes.
• Experience in residential property sectors.
• Background in health, safety, and compliance.
• Understanding of legislation impacting affordable housing development and management.
• Technical expertise in regulatory standards implementation.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, risk mitigation, and accident investigations.
