Job Description

We are recruiting a Head of Health and Safety to develop, oversee, manage, and support all aspects of our management and compliance systems, ensuring a safe working environment for staff, stakeholders, and customers. The role involves overseeing compliance with all relevant Health and Safety regulations for LGAH businesses acting as employer, landlord, and developer.

What you'll be doing:
  1. Leading and managing ongoing compliance with ISO45001 across the businesses.
  2. Leading health and safety assurance activities, including the implementation of Landlord Assurance model and CDM site safety assurance.
  3. Acting as the responsible person for all safety and compliance aspects, including incident investigation and reporting.
  4. Overseeing procurement and supplier relationships for specialist services ensuring delivery of required outcomes.
  5. Supporting certification processes for quality standards and managing standard compliance.
  6. Ensuring policies are up to date and reviewed in line with regulatory changes and sector good practices.
  7. Developing and reporting safety and compliance performance metrics to foster a culture of learning and improvement.
  8. Managing safety and compliance risks in collaboration with relevant teams.
  9. Working with business teams to embed safety and compliance in end-to-end processes, including site acquisition, build, and management.
Qualifications
  • Experience managing ISO quality standards.
  • Commitment to a safe and compliant environment.
  • Experience working with HSE and regulatory bodies.
  • Background in residential property, health, safety, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of legislation impacting affordable housing development and management.
  • Strong technical expertise in regulatory standards.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
