Head of Health & Safety

Venn Group is working with a prestigious company providing luxury retirement living to recruit a Head of Health and Safety to lead across their residences, ensuring health & safety is prioritized to provide residents with an outstanding experience.

Salary: up to £70k DOE (pro rata)

Duration: 6 months FTC initially

Hours: Monday to Friday

Location: London

The successful candidate will:

• Advise senior management and the board on current and emerging health, safety, and welfare legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations, and generating action plans.
• Support the Health and Safety Committee and provide guidance on all health and safety matters.
• Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety systems and develop a Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP).
• Ensure statutory compliance and develop systems and reporting methods to maintain compliance.
• Create and support the writing of risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work, providing specialist advice, coaching, and practical support.
• Assist teams in completing actions from internal/external audits and risk assessments, e.g., fire risk assessments.
• Support contractor management, review RAMS, and implement permit to work policies.

The successful candidate will have:

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Profound knowledge of the Building Safety Act.
• Experience in the residential, leisure, or hospitality sectors.
• Construction and fire-related qualifications are beneficial.
