Job summary

Anthropic Limited is seeking a founding Forward Deployed Engineer Manager to build and scale the enterprise deployment team. You will hire, mentor, and lead an engineers and architects group, shaping how strategic customers deploy Claude in production environments.

You’ll set technical and operational bars, collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering, and ensure delivery quality while growing your team and capabilities in ambiguous, high-impact projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, architecture, or technical customer-facing roles.
• 2+ years of people management within an FDE/consulting setup.
• Experience building organizations from 0 to 1 and working with enterprise customers.
• Executive presence for strategic and hands-on engagement with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, and retain a world-class FDE team and set high technical standards.
• Mentor engineers and invest in career growth with regular 1:1s.
• Staff and oversee customer engagements, balancing resources and priorities.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering to translate field insights into product direction.
• Review architectures and code to ensure production-ready solutions.
• Lead discovery sessions, prototype solutions, and debug complex issues.
• Create repeatable playbooks and internal knowledge bases.
• Define team OKRs and create cadences for alignment.
• Travel to customer sites as needed (25–50%).
