Anthropic is building the Forward Deployed Engineering leadership and is seeking a founding FDE Manager to hire and scale a world-class team. You will define standards, mentor engineers, and partner with Sales, Product, and Engineering to deploy production AI solutions at enterprise scale.

This role combines hands-on technical work with a strong people- and process-focused leadership, traveling to client sites as needed (25-50%).

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, architecture or technical customer-facing roles.
• Experience building and leading high-performing teams.
• Proven track record in enterprise AI deployments.
• Ability to work in ambiguity and set playbooks.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, and retain a world-class team of Forward Deployed Engineers.
• Set technical and operational bar for customer engagements.
• Staff and oversee customer engagements across your team's portfolio.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering during pre-sales and engagements.
• Review architectures and code to ensure production-quality solutions.
• Travel to customer sites 25-50% as needed for engagements.
