Job description

Our client is a family-owned and long-established business in the beverage industry. They have a head office in London and distilleries, warehousing, blending, and bottling sites in multiple locations nationally. Turnover is approximately £70m.

We are seeking to replace the company's Chief Accountant, who is due to retire in the summer. This role is office-based at the London Head Office. Reporting to the board of directors, the successful candidate will have full responsibility for the finance function and will manage a team of four in London, as well as support the finance functions at their distilleries and plants.

Assignment Details

• Manage the finance teams in London and Scotland
• Prepare monthly and quarterly Management Accounts
• Assist with the preparation of annual Statutory Accounts for the group
• Report daily on bank accounts
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register
• Prepare budgets for distilleries, warehousing, blending, bottling, and logistics plants
• Prepare Cash Flow forecasts
• Maintain Nominal Ledgers
• Handle payment of PAYE and Corporation Tax
• Check monthly payroll, holidays, sickness, and shift pay reconciliations
• Report information to the ONS
• Buy/sell currency (mainly US$ and €) as required
• Prepare claims for Government grants
