Job summary

Gigaton is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the software organisation building AI that controls the world’s most complex industrial plants in real time. You will helm a high-performing team delivering customer value and provide the platform and infrastructure for ML and research teams to succeed.

You will coach engineers and team leads, embed planning and review practices, and foster a culture of quality in a safety-critical domain while moving quickly.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background and leadership experience.
• Experience guiding through team leads or engineering managers and developing leaders.
• Ability to introduce structure to scale without heavy processes.
• Hands-on with architecture, debugging, reviews, and pairing.
• Knowledge of modern software practices including TDD, pair programming, and continuous deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build a high-performing software engineering organisation delivering customer value.
• Coach engineers and team leads and strengthen engineering practices.
• Partner with Head of ML, Head of Product, and CTO to translate priorities into realistic engineering plans.
